So you’ve got visual merchandiser, but what about everything else… what does that involve?
Lead Creative retoucher
The role of a Creative Retoucher is essentially someone who ‘enhances’ the final image, doing the last final tweaks before it gets published. In the industry, this can range from editorial spreads for magazines, to still life billboards for print – so its fairly wide spread. In my role of “Lead Creative Retoucher” at a global fashion company, I specifically work on all creative imagery, including campaigns, social, and any imagery for the main page of the website. A usual day would be cleaning up any blemishes, getting rid of any distractions, colour grading and enhancing and sometimes even image comping. It’s very rarely quiet, and its challenging at times but it’s worth it when you see your work out and about on billboards! Written by Sophie Abbott, lead creative retoucher at Boohoo
