visual merchandiser assistant - instore
A Visual Merchandising Assistant is in charge of making sure the store looks eye-catching and visually appealing. Their day-to-day tasks includes dressing mannequins, creating in store displays, window displays, organising and distributing décor/marketing throughout the store and organising the shop floor. Assistants often have to follow store plans, depending on the company they are working for. This means looking at images sent from head offices as to how they want the store to be set out to keep consistency through every store in the business. Although the job is mostly about following instruction you are often allowed some creative freedom with what you produce. Written by Ellen Brown, Visual Merchandising Assistant at Marks and Spencer.
